Format of the conference
  • The conference will be held on-site at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Sukileliu Ave. 13, Kaunas, LT-50166, Lithuania.
  • All participants are required to attend the conference on-site. No exceptions apply for international participants. 
  • In case of illness or unplanned emergencies, the Organising committee must be informed immediately.

Sessions

All participants have the right to select the session in which they would like to present their abstract. However, the abstract may be transferred to a different session should the topic be deemed more relevant by Reviewers. The list of sessions is preliminary and may be subject to change after the abstract submission deadline:

If a session has less than 7 or more than 12 accepted abstracts, the IHSC 2026 Organising Committee reserves the right to transfer abstracts to a different session or combine sessions. 

Participation in the conference
Active participants (presenters): 

The submitter has to designate a presenter at the time of submitting presentation. The designated presenter will be considered an active participant responsible for delivering the presentation. If the co-authors wants to attend the conference, they have to obtain a passive participant’s ticket.  Abstracts must be uploaded to the IHSC 2026 website: submission.ihsc.eu. Submission is open only to university students who are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree from any accredited higher education institution. One active participant can submit only one case report abstract and an unlimited number of original research abstracts in all topics.  

For LSMU SMD members*, the submission fee for the first abstract is 20 EUR (this price applies only if the submitter is an LSMU SMD member), and for non-members – 35 EUR.  

When submitting more than one abstract, a fee of 35 EUR is charged for each additional abstract (including LSMU SMD members).  

Each abstract must be submitted separately. Submission dates are as follows:  

17th of November 2025 – 21st of December 2025, 23:59 EET 

No abstracts submitted outside these dates will be accepted. 

Passive participants: 

If you do not submit an abstract to IHSC 2026, you can still participate in the conference as a passive  participant.  

  • Passive participants must pay a 5 EUR participation fee. Passive participants are eligible for a certificate of attendance and a welcome pack.
  • All submitters whose abstracts are rejected by the Reviewers are welcome to attend as a passive participants at no additional cost.
  • Attendance at the conference is necessary to receive a certificate and a welcome pack.
  • Tickets will be available from the 19th of January to the 23rd of February 2026, 23:59 EET at http://tickets.ihsc.eu
  • Workshops are not included in the participation fee. See more information about workshop tickets in the Workshop section.
  • Participation fees are non-refundable.
Workshops:
  • To attend workshops, all participants must pay a 0-10 EUR fee per workshop.
  • Tickets to each workshop are sold separately. Tickets will be available from the 23th of February to the 2nd of March 2026, 23:59 EET at tickets.ihsc.eu.
  • It is possible to attend a workshop without being registered as an active or passive participant.
  • Attendance at the workshops is necessary to receive a certificate.
  • Participation fees are non-refundable unless the workshop is cancelled by the Organising Committee.

Abstract requirements

Key information: 

      • Case reports and original research are accepted at the conference. Literature reviews (including systematic review and meta-analysis review) are NOT accepted.  
      • Abstracts must be written in English. 
      • One submitter can submit only one case report abstract and unlimited number of original research abstracts in all topics. Each abstract must be submitted separately. 
      • Abstracts can be submitted until 21st of December 2025, 23:59 EET. No abstracts submitted outside these dates will be accepted. 
      • The best work in each session will be awarded. 
      • Abstracts must not have been published in any format before submitting the abstract (e.g., the Abstract book). 
      • All submissions must adhere to ethical guidelines, including proper citation and acknowledgment of prior work, ensuring no form of plagiarism or unethical research practices.

Original research 

      • Original research abstracts are accepted in IHSC 2026.  
      •  An original research abstract involves the collection and analysis of data to answer a specific research question or hypothesis. This type of research is designed to generate new knowledge, provide insight into existing, or test a theory by conducting a structured study.   
      • Presented research should involve collecting and analysing novel data through experiments, surveys, or other methods. Please note that secondary reviews or summaries of existing research do not qualify as original research.

Original research abstract submission

Terms for registering and accepting abstracts:   

  1. Abstracts must be written in English.   
  2. An submitter can submit an unlimited number of original research abstracts in all topics. 
  3. Abstracts can be submitted for oral or poster presentation. Authors are asked for their preference. However, the final decision on presentation type will be made by IHSC 2026 Reviewers.   
  4. Abstracts should not exceed 2500 characters. References are not included in character limitations. 
  5. Abstracts can only be submitted by bachelor’s or master’s degree students. All original research works must have a scientific supervisor.
  6. Abstracts must include authors and their affiliations (affiliation details: department, institution/hospital, city, state (if applicable), country).  
  7. Abstracts must include the following parts:
    1. Introduction – key information to introduce the background of your research and illustrate its scientific problem;   
    2. Aim – a short description of research objectives;   
    3. Methods – a description of methods and materials used in the research, including type of study and statistical methods;   
    4. Results – a description of the obtained results;   
    5. Conclusions – a summary of your research and answers to the objectives. Try to avoid phrases such as "scientific research is in progress", "the results and conclusions will be presented at the conference";  
    6. References – a list of literature sources that were used during your study. Sources for the abstract must not be older than 10 years.  Citations should be written in Vancouver Citation Style.
  8. The primary review will be carried out by two Reviewers. Based on their decision abstracts may be:
    1. Accepted     
    2. Rejected
    3. Conditionally accepted (modifications and secondary review required)   
  9. Each author will be asked to read and sign the statement of authorship as well as declare there was no conflict of interest during the making of the abstract when submitting an abstract. 
  10. Literature reviews (including systematic review and meta-analysis review) are NOT accepted. 
  11. Bioethical permission – see more in “Bioethics” section below. 
  12. Abstracts must not have been published in any format before submitting the abstract (e.g., the Abstract book). 
  13. The approved abstract will be published without editing. For this reason, we advise you to make sure there are no mistakes left. The IHSC 2026 Organising Committee will not be responsible for any errors in the submitted abstracts.  
  14. In order to include a comparable number of abstracts in each session, the Organising Committee reserves the right to transfer an abstract to a different session.   
  15. Only abstracts that comply with the terms and requirements will be published in the Abstract book.

Case report abstract submission

Terms for registering and accepting abstracts:   

  1. Case report must be written in English.   
  2. One submitter can submit only one case report abstract. 
  3. Case report can be submitted only for oral presentation.  
  4. Case report should not exceed 2000 characters. References are not included in character limitations. 
  5. Case report can only be submitted by bachelor’s or master’s degree students. All case report works must have a scientific supervisor.
  6. All Case Reports must include a signed consent form from the head of the clinic from which the case was taken. You can find consent form here.
  7. All Case Reports must include authors and their affiliations (affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state (if applicable), country).  
  8. Case report must include the following parts:
    1. Introduction – key information to introduce the background of your case report.   
    2. Case presentation – history, physical exam, diagnostics, treatment/management, clinical course/outcome. 
    3. Discussion – epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment/management, prognosis/prevention 
    4. Conclusions – a summary of your case report. 
    5. References – a list of literature sources that were used in your abstract. Sources for the abstract must not be older than 10 years. Citations should be written in Vancouver Citation Style.
  9. The primary review will be carried out by two Reviewers. Based on their decision abstract may be:

  2. Presentations should be prepared using Microsoft Office PowerPoint. Presenters take full responsibility for file formats and the quality of the presentation.   
  3. The oral presentation should last no longer than 7 minutes, followed by a  2-minute discussion and questions.   
  4. Only the active participant can be a presenter. The presenter must participate in the discussion after the presentation. Co-authors may also take part in the discussion.  
  5. Presenters will be asked to use the official IHSC 2026  presentation template for their presentation. The template will be sent with the Reviewers’ final decision on the 16th of February 2026. 
  6. Oral presentations must be uploaded to the online MS Forms which is sent by the Organising committee between the 16th of February and 25th of February 2026, 23:59 EET 
  7. If the provided template is not used, the Organising Committee reserves the right to decline presentation at the conference and not to publish the abstract in the abstract book. 
  8. Presentations will be evaluated by a professional Jury Committee during the conference. 
Original research poster presentation requirements

Posters must comply with the requirements as described below:   

  1. All posters will be presented on-site during the Poster session.   
  2. All posters will be presented digitally on-screen and will be presented by active participant (presenter). The presenter must participate in the discussion after the presentation. Co-authors may also take part in the discussion.
  3. Microsoft Office PowerPoint slides cannot be used in the presentation.   
  4. Posters should follow the requirements specified in the Abstract requirements and be presented using the given template. 
  5. If the provided template is not used, the Organising Committee reserves the right to decline presentation at the conference and not to publish the work in the abstract book. 
  6. Templates will be sent with the final Reviewers’ decision on the 16th of February 2026. 
  7. A poster is NOT equivalent to an abstract presentation. A poster should illustrate the main points of focus of the abstract using the provided official IHSC 2026 template.  
  8. The presentation should last no longer than 5 minutes, followed by a 2-minute discussion and questions.   
  9. Posters and their presentations will be evaluated by a professional Jury Committee during the conference. 
Case report oral presentation requirements

Bioethics
  • We recommend all abstracts to have a permission issued by the biomedical research ethical committee. If an abstract does not have such permission, we require the authors to provide an explanation.
  • Permission details must be provided in the submission system while submitting the abstract.
  • All abstracts submitted without permission will be reviewed by biomedical research ethical experts to determine if the research needs approval. 
  • All Case report abstracts must include a signed consent form from the head of the clinic from which the data was taken and uploaded to the submission site together with the abstract. The consent forms are available on the ihsc.eu site.
  • The Organising Committee reserves the right to reject an abstract if it is determined that research was conducted without necessary permissions.
