- Passive participants who wish to receive a welcome pack and certificate of attendance must pay a 5 EUR fee.

- All primary authors whose abstracts are rejected by the Reviewers are welcome to attend as passive participants at no additional cost.

However, the abstract may be transferred to a different session should the topic be deemed more relevant by Reviewers. - If a session has less than 7 or more than 12 accepted abstracts, the IHSC 2025 Organising Committee reserves the right to transfer abstracts to a different session or combine sessions.
- Abstracts can only be submitted by active participants. Abstracts must be uploaded to the IHSC 2025 website: submission.ihsc.eu. Submission is open to university students who are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree from any accredited higher education institution. One active participant can submit only one case report abstract and an unlimited number of original research abstracts in all topics.

No abstracts submitted outside these dates will be accepted.
- If you do not submit an abstract to IHSC 2025, you can still participate in the conference as a passive participant.

- We recommend that abstracts include a biomedical research ethical committee’s permission, yet it’s important to note that for case reports, bioethics permission is not required. However, in instances where an abstract lacks this specific permission, authors should provide a clear explanation.
- Permission details must be provided in the submission system while submitting the abstract.
- All abstracts submitted without permission will be reviewed by biomedical research ethical experts to determine if the research needs approval.
- The organising committee reserves the right to reject an abstract if it is determined that research was conducted without necessary permissions.

Original research
- Original research abstracts are accepted in IHSC 2025.
- An original research abstract involves the collection and analysis of data to answer a specific research question or hypothesis. This type of research is designed to generate new knowledge, provide insight into existing, or test a theory by conducting a structured study.
- Presented research should involve collecting and analysing novel data through experiments, surveys, or other methods. Please note that secondary reviews or summaries of existing research do not qualify as original research.
- Extensive guidelines for reporting can be found on https://www.equator-network.org/.
Terms for registering and accepting abstracts:
- Abstracts must be written in English.
- An active participant can submit an unlimited number of original research abstracts in all topics.
- Abstracts can be submitted for oral or poster presentation. Authors are asked for their preference. However, the final decision on presentation type will be made by IHSC 2025 Reviewers.
- Abstracts should not exceed 2500 characters. References are not included in character limitations.
- Abstracts can be submitted only by bachelor’s or master’s degree students. However, we strongly advise all participants to conduct research with more experienced researchers.
- Abstracts must include authors and their affiliations (affiliation details: department, institution/hospital, city, state (if applicable), country).
- Abstracts must include the following parts:
- Introduction – key information to introduce the background of your research and illustrate its scientific problem;
- Aim – a short description of research objectives;
- Methods – a description of methods and materials used in the research, including type of study and statistical methods;
- Results – a description of the obtained results;
- Conclusions – a summary of your research and answers to the objectives. Try to avoid phrases such as "scientific research is in progress", "the results and conclusions will be presented at the conference";
- References – a list of literature sources that were used during your study. Sources for the abstract must not be older than 10 years. Citations should be written in Vancouver Citation Style.
- The primary review will be carried out by two Reviewers. Based on their decision abstracts may be:

- Rejected
- Conditionally accepted (modifications and secondary review required)
- Each author will be asked to read and sign the statement of authorship as well as declare there was no conflict of interest during the making of the abstract when submitting an abstract.

- All posters will be presented digitally on-screen and will be presented by one of the authors.
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint slides cannot be used in the presentation.
- Posters should follow the requirements specified in the Abstract requirements and be presented using the given template.
- If the provided template is not used, the Organising Committee reserves the right to decline presentation at the conference and not to publish the work in the abstract book.
- Templates will be sent with the final Reviewers’ decision on the 17th of February 2025.
- A poster is NOT equivalent to an abstract presentation. A poster should illustrate the main points of focus of the abstract using the provided official IHSC 2025 template.
- The presentation should last no longer than 5 minutes, followed by a 2-minute discussion and questions.
